The Wireless network in REZ supports the WPA2 Enterprise protocol, a secure standard, which requires devices to authenticate with a valid McGill Username and Password; the SSID is wpa.mcgill.ca.
If you have devices that do not support WPA2 Enterprise, such as gaming consoles, Alexa, Roku, and Apple TV devices, you can register them and then connect to the wireless network via the WPA2-PSK (pre-shared key) protocol, using SSID mywifidevice.mcgill.ca. For instructions see the article Register and connect a WiFi device with an assigned password.
All McGill students, faculty, staff, affiliates (non-McGill staff work in association with McGill such as hospital affiliates), visitors (such as visiting faculty) can use the service while in a McGill residence or selected off-campus residence. Users will need to have a McGill Username and Password to authenticate on the network.

No, unless the printer is WPA2 Enterprise-ready. Most wireless printers do not support WPA2 Enterprise encryption. Note that most Residences have at least one uPrint device in the building; this is an advisable alternative to owning your own printer, as they are more economical and environmentally friendly.
Users of the REZ service are not permitted to connect and use network devices such as switches, routers, wireless access points, private VPNs, and firewall hardware without prior approval of IT Services. See the Policy on the Responsible Use of McGill IT Resources for more information.
