McGill is currently in a major project to replace its legacy telephone system with a Cisco voice over IP solution. Units will be migrated from legacy Meridian phones to the new system gradually, over the next two years.

IT Services is responsible for providing telephone services for the downtown campus, Macdonald campus, the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital, the Gault Estate (Mont St-Hilaire) and in McGill Residences.

Since most requests require entering some administrative information, such as the FOAPAL to which the work / service will be charged, you should ask your department's Telephone Coordinator to request services on your behalf. Telephone service requests will be processed during regular office hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
Access to the McGill telephone system is available 24 X 7, except during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Check the System Status page for announcements regarding service interruptions.
