* About: Respondus (quiz and survey authoring software)

Service overview

Respondus is a Windows application that allowed instructors to create and manage quizzes and surveys offline.

announcement

NOTICE: Respondus is no longer used at McGill.

This tool was decommissioned on July 31, 2026 because it is not widely used by the community and myCourses offers the features required to replace it.

Beginning August 1 2026, quizzes and exams should be created directly in myCourses. Any quizzes created with Respondus 4 that were transferred to myCourses will remain available in myCourses.

Please note : Respondus Lockdown Browser is unaffected by this change and will remain available.

Next steps

If you have any quizzes in Respondus that you have not yet transferred to myCourses, please do so before July 31st. For instructions, see: Use Respondus for quiz and survey authoring
