Service overview

The Video conferencing service allows you to communicate in real-time via video using one of the facilities below.

Note: These facilities can be used for teaching purposes and are supported by IT Services. See the FAQ section for other rooms on campus with video conference capabilities not supported by IT Services.

Who can use it

McGill faculty, staff, students, and affiliates can book these rooms for teaching and learning purposes related to official McGill courses.


How to request & access the service

To book one of these rooms, refer to Room Booking Procedures on the Class Scheduling website.

If you are a first-time user and would like training before booking the facility, contact the IT Service Desk. You must book your training well in advance of your video conference date.


Cost

There is no cost for this service.


Availability

Room booking is done on a first-come, first-served basis. Each room's availability hours will be confirmed through the Room Booking Procedures.


Frequently asked questions

Are there other video conference facilities at McGill?

Other private video conferencing rooms at McGill are booked and managed exclusively by the units who own them. To reserve one of these rooms, please contact the unit's administrator. 

If you are hosting an event, conference, or seminar, contact Communications and External Relations. They also have a multimedia facility dedicated to video conferencing and a broadcast studio for filming, media interviews, and webcasts.

Is there a web conferencing service?
