Note: We recommend AV equipment (e.g., portable video data projectors, wireless microphones, projection screens etc.) that is compatible with McGill standards.

NOTES:

Upon request, IT Services provides installation and modification services for audiovisual (AV) equipment in departmental conference rooms, private rooms, and other non-classroom spaces.

** Audiovisual equipment additions and upgrades in public classrooms must be initiated and approved by Teaching and Academic Programs (TAP).

If you are an instructor who wishes to request changes to the classroom assigned to you, please contact Teaching and Academic Programs (TAP) for a consultation.


Who can use this service

All McGill administrative units, faculties, departments and research groups are entitled to use this service.


How to request & access the service

This webform is not to be used to request alterations to audiovisual equipment in public classrooms (i.e., rooms in which you have been assigned to teach). To request updates or additions to audiovisual equipment in public classrooms, please contact Teaching and Academic Programs (TAP) .

Will I get exactly the equipment I request?
We keep track of the latest equipment and technological solutions and sometimes will recommend equipment based on this expertise.


What do I need before meeting with us?
Consult with all the stakeholders to have a clear understanding of all the requirements and expectations.


Do I always have to pay for installing technologies in teaching spaces?
Not always. You can ask your faculty representative in your teaching space working group for funding. You can also contact Teaching and Academic Programs (TAP) to find out how to request funding for teaching spaces.


Can I install any equipment in the classroom?
Any permanently installed equipment must be approved by us. The use of portable equipment is not regulated.
