Websites in the Web Management System (WMS) must follow accessibility and usability standards. This helps all users to access web content, regardless of their background, abilities, device, environment, or connection quality.

How the WMS supports accessibility and usability
IT Services is committed to building tools that:
- Are accessible to a variety of devices, operating systems, and browsers, including: Computers, mobile devices, assistive technologies, and other hardware;
- Commonly used browsers and software platforms (Windows, Mac OS, Linux).
- Comply with applicable legal guidelines and standards, including:
- The W3C’s Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI);
- The Government of Canada's Standard on Web Accessibility;
- The Quebec government's accessibility standard (French only): Standard sur l’accessibilité des sites Web (SGQRI 008 2.0);
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA.
The purpose of these guidelines is to ensure that faculty, staff and students with disabilities can rely on accessible digital resources.
