Departments and faculties should use a uPrint shared account and a uPrint card to give the following users access to uPrint:
To access a uPrint device with a uPrint Shared Account, the account must be linked to a uPrint card, and the password on the card must be waived. The only method to access a uPrint device while using a uPrint Shared Account is to swipe the uPrint card with the password waived at the machine.
Follow the procedure for how to Submit a request for a uPrint shared account.

Only a Key Financial Contact or a uPrint Administrator can assign FOAPALs to a uPrint shared account. They must link a uPrint card to the account and link the password on the card. To do so, go to the form at Minerva > Finance Tab > uPrint - Campus Printing Menu > Assign FOAPALs to a uPrint Shared Account.
For more information, see uPrint Administrators on the Financial Services website.

If you typically have several casual students/visitors/staff each semester, you can have several uPrint shared accounts and uPrint cards to reuse as needed. You must use a uPrint Card for each uPrint shared account, and the password must be waived on the card. You cannot have more than one uPrint card per account.
It is the department's responsibility to keep track of who has access to a uPrint shared account and the uPrint card associated with the account. As charges can only be tracked by account, we strongly recommend that only one person use the uPrint card associated with the uPrint Shared Account at any given time. If you decide to share one uPrint card among several people, be aware that this will enable any of its users to print other people's jobs.
