OVERVIEW

Target audience: Faculty and staff members using McGill's Content Management System (D2, Webtop, Captiva)

eCalendar Lab (CMS 327) 

Target Audience: Intended for staff members who access Webtop for yearly eCalendar review.
Prerequisites: None
Duration: 2-3 hours

This course is offered to reviewers of the McGill eCalendar (www.mcgill.ca/study) to assist in reviewing and updating information relating to their units.

The course is in lab format with eCalendar staff present to help you complete your eCalendar review work. You may bring any information (e.g., faculty member list, deadlines, other revised text, etc.) you need to complete your updates and edit your sections using Webtop and XMAX editing software.

D2 for Space Contributors and Coordinators (CMS 504)

Target Audience: This workshop is intended for space members (McGill staff, students, and external users) who will contribute to spaces on the McGill Content Management System, Documentum D2. D2 is used as a document repository and collaboration tool. Key system features include versioning, full-text search, and the standard document check-in/check-out feature. The workshop also covers the role of the space coordinator.

D2 for Legal records (CMS 506)

Target Audience: This workshop is intended for Legal Services, who will use the McGill Content Management System, Documentum D2, to create, store, and update legal files and as a document repository and collaboration tool.
Prerequisites: CMS 504
Duration: 1.5 hours
Course format: Workshop
Course material: The course material is restricted to Legal Services staff and will be distributed at the training session. Printed exercises will also be distributed at the course.

This hands-on workshop provides the main features of McGill’s Content Management System, Documentum D2, tailored for McGill’s Legal Case Management. The following features are covered:

D2 for Enrolment Services - Student Records (CMS 508)

Target Audience: Intended for staff members who need access to D2 for student records.
Prerequisites: None
Duration: 2 hours

D2 is a web-based interface for Documentum (a software application used by McGill for CMS), which enables us to manage, store, track, and deliver information, content, and documents within a single repository.

This hands-on workshop teaches staff how to use D2 for student records. It provides an overview of the main features of the D2 interface and covers the following for student documents (e.g., admission, school, student): search, view, edit (check out and check in of a document), annotate a PDF, import, versions, properties and subscribe.

Target Audience: Financial and Student Accounts staff needing access to D2 for financial records.
