uPrint cards: which one is right for you?

This article covers the 3 different uPrint card options that are available for users who either do not have a valid student or faculty / staff McGill ID card, or who do not want printing charges billed to their McGill accounts.

Prepaid guest cards for departmental use

These cards are intended for purchase by departments or faculties who wish to provide their casual staff or visitors with a prepaid card for the uPrint service.

They are available in fixed amounts of $30 and $50 (tax is included), and are purchased using a FOAPAL. These cards are not refundable nor refillable.

To obtain prepaid cards for departmental use, a member of the department (usually the key operator of the uPrint device) must fill out the form to Request a uPrint Prepaid Guest card.

uPrint prepaid card for personal use

Prepaid cards available in Libraries (for guests and personal use)

These cards are intended for use by visitors to the McGill Libraries, students who have graduated, staff wishing to make copies or printouts for personal use, etc.

Prepaid guest cards come in denominations of $5, $10 and $20, taxes included. These cards are not refundable nor refillable.

They are sold in McGill Libraries on the downtown campus and at the Macdonald Campus Library (Barton Building).

uPrint card charged to a FOAPAL

This card is intended as a way for departments or faculties to associate uPrint Shared Accounts or casual users, who have McGill staff credentials but no ID card, with a card that can be swiped at a uPrint device.
