McGill Profiles in the WMS – Using Self-authorship to edit your McGill Profile


OVERVIEW

Target audience: McGill faculty and staff with a McGill Profile

Site Managers can provide faculty and staff who have a McGill Profile on a website in the Web Management System (WMS) with the ability to edit or update their own profile. This feature is called Self-authorship.

Note: Self-authorship is only possible if your Site Manager has:

Once the above criteria have been met, people can edit their own profile by following these steps:

  1. Go to your website and login using the Log in link located in the footer (bottom, right).

    Sign in with your McGill Username and McGill Password.

  2. Find your profile by searching for it in the Search box, or by accessing your website's Profiles List page (https://www.mcgill.ca/SITENAME/people).
  3. Click on your name and you will see the following tabs:
    • View
    • Edit
    • Revisions
    • Translate

      Access your profile

  4. Click on the Edit tab. You will then be able to edit most of the fields except for fields that are set to be updated from Banner.
  5. Click Save when you are finished.
  6. Click the Log out link, located on the top right-hand side of the page to log yourself out of the website.
