Call-to-action template blocks in the Web Management System (WMS) automatically format content in an attractive, consistent manner, ensuring site visitors can easily identify how to take the next step.
In this article:
The block can include:
- a call-to-action button with text
- a title
- descriptive text
- an image
Call-to-action block styles
Call-to-action blocks appear differently depending on the size of the block.
- Full-width blocks with images use McGill red for the button
- Full-width blocks that do not have images use a typography-based style instead of the button
- Half-width blocks use a solid black button
- Third-width blocks and blocks in the sidebar have a transparent button
- Enhanced blocks are black with white text

Create a Call to action block
- Go to My Workbench and click on the Create Content tab.
- Click McGill Call-to-action.
- Fill in the Label and Title (if applicable).
- Upload an Image.
- Select a View Mode:
- Full-, Half-, Third-width
- Enhanced
- enhanced blocks are text only; images will not display
- enhanced blocks placed in the highlighted region floats in the top right corner of a visitor’s browser window
- enhanced blocks placed in any other region are full-width. Recommended block regions to use are: Top of Content, Bottom of content, Top of page, or Bottom of page
- Body: Add content to the block
- Text is left-aligned on blocks with images and centered on blocks without
- Text will appear to the right of the image on full-width blocks
- Text will appear centered in the block, under the title and/or image for half-width and third-width blocks
- Link Title: Enter text for the call-to-action button label.
- Link URL: Enter the URL users will be directed to when they click the call-to-action button.
- Click Save.

Configure a Call-to-action block
To place the block on your page, from the Administration toolbar, click Structure > Blocks. Follow the instructions in the article Manage blocks in the WMS.

Edit / Delete a Call-to-action block
Follow the instructions on editing or deleting a block in the WMS.
