Service overview
There are two web-based software systems to help Building Services manage the logistics of campus events hosted by McGill and by clients external to McGill:
- FAMIS to manage details of the event and orders for equipment and services
- Kronos to manage custodial staff required to work at such events
With FAMIS, you can:
- Create service requests and work orders
- Capture the details of the events, including:
- How many people will be attending the event
- Where the event is being held
- Date(s) of event
- Coordinate the materials needed for the event (chairs, tables, etc.)
- Print work orders for custodial staff
- Bill clients
- Manage client profiles
- Run reports
With Kronos, you can:
- Coordinate the required labor resources needed for the event
- Manage custodial staff schedules
- Manage overtime assignments
- Enter temporary (casual) assignments
- Track absences to know availability for overtime assignments. Note: Actual time management is done in Workday
- Run reports

Who can use it
The following groups within Facilities Management and Ancillary Services (FMAS) can use FAMIS and Kronos:
- Buildings, Grounds and Services
- Event Support
- HR team
- Accounting team

How to request & access the service
Log into Kronos with your McGill Username and Password at the Kronos site.

Cost
There is no cost to use these services.

Availability
These services are available 24 X 7, except during planned maintenance or outages. Check the home page of the IT Support site for announcements.
