Target audience: Site Administrators, Site Managers, Site Editors
The Related Content feature in the Web Management System (WMS) allows you to display a list of links at the bottom of your Basic Page or Article to related information on your site.
Add Related Content links
NOTES:
The Related Content feature can only be applied on Basic Pages and Articles
You can link to other related Basic Pages, Articles, or McGill Profiles; you cannot link to any other content types such as: Channels, Webforms, Restricted Pages, etc.
You can link to translated content, i.e., link to French content on an English page or vice-versa
Click the Edit draft or New draft tab on a Basic Page or Article
Scroll down to the vertical tabs and click Related Content
In the Related Content Label field, enter a heading that you wish to display at the top of your list of related content links
Add the Related Content link(s)
In the field provided under the RELATED CONTENT section, start typing the title of the page you intend to link to and you will see that a list of titles starts to auto-complete
Select the appropriate title
To add another link, click Add another item and a new empty field will appear
Change the order of any link by clicking on the crosshair icon next to the field – which highlights it – then drag and drop the field to a new position where it will appear with an asterisk beside it
Click Save at the bottom of the page to save any updates
Publish the page in order for your Related Content links to display.
Test your link(s) to make sure that you have linked to the correct content since the auto-completed titles may sometimes be similar for different content types (e.g., a Basic Page or Article could share the same title).
