Target audience: Students, faculty and staff members who are given a code to join a Microsoft Teams team
If you are given a Teams code, you can join the team on your own, without any further membership management on the part of the Team owner.

Download the Microsoft Teams app
To get access to all the Teams features, we recommend that you download and install the Microsoft Teams app for your Windows or Mac OS computer from https://teams.microsoft.com/downloads
The Microsoft Teams app is also available for Android on the Google Play Store and iOS App Store.
Join a team using a code
Start Microsoft Teams, and if prompted, log in with your McGill credentials.
- Click the Teams button on the left side of the screen.
- Click Join or create a team at the top-right of the Teams panel.
- In the Join a team with a code tile, enter the Team Code you were given in the field where it says Enter code.
- Click Join team
- You are now a member of the Team!
