How to request & access

Always access Gartner through the All Apps tab of Microsoft 365, or follow the steps below to set up a browser bookmark or desktop shortcut. Sign in to Gartner using your McGill username and password.
 
Note: Do not bookmark your Gartner home page, as you cannot sign in with Single Sign On (SSO) from the resulting link.

Creating a bookmark or shortcut to sign in to Gartner

1. Navigate to the All Apps tab of Microsoft 365.
2. Right-click on the McGill Gartner tile and copy the link.

3. Sign out from your Microsoft account.

4. Paste the URL you copied into a new browser window. This will take you to the Gartner SSO sign-in page.

5. Do not sign in to your account. Bookmark or create a desktop shortcut to this page
6. Once you have created your bookmark or shortcut, click the link to sign in to Gartner.

Cost

There is no cost to the user to use Gartner services.

Gartner is available 24/7, outside of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

Getting started

Customizing your feed

When you sign in to Gartner with SSO, you will be directed to your “feed” page:

To customize your feed to your interests, click “Manage my Tracks” in the right sidebar and navigate to “Create new tracks":

From here, you can select your areas of interest.

Saving content to your library

To save an article for future reference, click the Save icon.

Click on the folder where you’d like to store the article, or click “Add New Folder” to create a new folder.

You can access your saved articles from the My Library icon at the top right of the screen.

FAQs

How do I sign into Gartner using my SSO?
Sign in to Gartner using SSO or access it from the All Apps tab of Microsoft 365.
Can I sign in using my McGill username and password from gartner.com?
You cannot sign in directly from gartner.com. Always sign in to Gartner from the All Apps tab of Microsoft 365 or follow the instructions on creating a bookmark or desktop shortcut
Why isn’t my bookmark of gartner.com/home/feed working?
See above for instructions on setting up a bookmark or desktop shortcut.
I’m having trouble signing in with my McGill ID and password.
Please contact the IT Service Desk for support with signing in to Gartner. 
I’m having trouble finding a resource on the Gartner site, accessing my library, downloading article, or otherwise having difficulty with the Gartner platform.

How do I manage emails and notifications from Gartner?

Access Gartner from the All Apps tab in Microsoft 365 or follow the instructions above to set up a bookmark or desktop shortcut. Do not bookmark your feed page or attempt to sign in from gartner.com.
