eSpace replaces the space management functions of FAMIS. It offers the ability to view building layouts, floorplans, several archived plans (architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, final plans & specifications of projects [As built by professionals]).
Additionally, it provides numerous reports that are used to extract building and floor data by campus, building or floor. One of the important reports produced by this system is the report to the "Système d'information sur les locaux des universités" (SILU) which provides space usage data to the Ministry of Education.
To submit a service request, you must access FAMIS on the containment site. Look for the link to access the application on this Facilities website and find detailed login and usage instructions in the IT Knowledge Base.
eSpace is used by Facilities and Ancillary Services staff members as well as building directors/coordinators to visualize and manage space allocation. As an employee, you may also request access to the system if your role requires you to visualize buildings and floor plans.
eSpace is also accessible to selected consultants on renovation projects.

Access to this system and update rights are only granted to the users listed above because the data it contains is sensitive.

In FAMIS, I could consult building/floor plans, why can't I have access to eSpace?
It has been decided by Facilities and ancillary services to limit access to this system because it contains sensitive information about the location of classrooms, amphitheaters and other widely used areas. Please feel free to request access (see above) if required.
Where can I consult the building and floor plans?
The building and floor plans are located in the Building Dashboard (2D versions) or Archidata World (3D view) modules of eSpace.
Where can I view the construction plans?
The plans and associated documentation are located in the Plan Room module of eSpace. NOTE: Complete access to this module is restricted to certain users in FMAS.
Where can I find the documentation for eSpace?
The documentation for eSpace can be found under the help button located at the top of the interface in the application.
These plans contain highly sensitive information that should not be shared with individuals that are not specifically involved in ongoing projects and do not have access to the system. If in doubt, send an email to espace.fmas@mcgill.ca to determine if the person should have access to the requested plan.
You can access the system's documentation by selecting the Help button in the top-right corner of the application's home page.
For any questions concerning access to the system, or if you have questions about the information it contains, including buildings information, floor plans, rooms, usage by unit, archived plans and documentation as well as reports, send an email to espace.fmas@mcgill.ca.
