Target audience: Resource account sponsors
The instructions in this article describe how to change sponsor information for a shared mailbox or resource account.

Note:
- A maximum of 3 resource account sponsors are allowed per account.
- Only full-time staff members can be sponsors.
- You can only change sponsors from the sponsor fields. All other fields are for informational purposes only.
- You can change sponsors individually or in bulk using the Resource Account Batch Sponsor Modify form

Instructions
Access SailPoint IIQ
- Log in to SailPoint Identity IQ - Home (mcgill.ca). If you are logging in from off campus, you must first connect to VPN.
- Using the hamburger menu icon select Administration then Resource Account Modify Request
Search for a shared mailbox or resource account
- Type a name on the search bar to display any accounts on which you are a sponsor. Do not use the Preview button when searching. Left click or press Enter on a name to retrieve the account information.
Alternatively, using the down arrow icon on the search bar will display the list of accounts for which you are the sponsor. If needed, select "Load More" until you have come to the end of your listings and scroll through the list.
2. Click on the account you want to view. The modification form will open and display the information for that account.
Change sponsors on a resource account or shared mailbox
Enter the new sponsor's name directly in the appropriate contact field to add or change a sponsor.
If you want to remove a sponsor but do not have a replacement, you can use the "None" entry for the second or third contacts to remove the names. Note that there must be a first contact for all accounts.
Click on Preview to verify the changes, then click Submit.
Change sponsors in bulk
You can update sponsor information only for the accounts where you are currently listed as a sponsor.
To make changes to multiple accounts at once — for example, when a sponsor changes departments or leaves the University — use the following batch sponsor form:
- Navigate to: Administration > Resource Account Modify Sponsor Request (this opens the Resource Account Batch Sponsor Modify form).
- Search by sponsor name. Note: Only accounts where you are also a sponsor will be displayed.
- Select one or more accounts to update.
- Modify or remove sponsor names in the contact fields.
- Click Preview, then Submit.
When a sponsor changes departments, an automated email is sent to their manager listing all affected accounts. The manager can either use this form (if they’re also a sponsor) or contact the IT Service Desk to request updates.
