How to renew (extend) resource accounts


Introduction

OVERVIEW

Target audience: McGill faculty and staff who sponsor resource accounts 

As the sponsor of one or more resource accounts, it is your responsibility to renew them yearly. You can easily renew the resource account(s) that you sponsor using Sailpoint IIQ. Resource accounts can have up to three sponsors; any sponsor can renew the account.

Note: You may be listed as a sponsor for several resource accounts. Each account must be renewed separately. If you do not renew your resource accounts, they will be closed eventually deleted and access will be lost.

Logging in to SailPoint IIQ

Resource account renewal is performed in SailPoint IIQ, McGill’s identity and access management solution. Log in to SailPoint IIQ  using your McGill username and password or click on the link in the notification email you received from IIQ. You will receive a notification email 30 days before the expiry of each resource account.


Renewing (extending) your resource account(s) 

    1. Click My Work, then Work Items.

2. In Work Items, select the resource account which needs to be renewed. Click View to open the renewal form.

3. On the first page of the form, you will see the details of the resource account. Click Next

4. On the second page of the form, click Confirm Expiry Date extension. This extends the resource account by one year. 

Note:

  • You can only renew resource accounts for one year using this method. To renew for a shorter period, please contact the IT Service desk. Renewals of more than one year are not available. 
  • Sponsor changes should be made after an account is renewed.
