Service overview

MyCreds™: new service offered by McGill’s Enrolment Services unit built in collaboration by ARUCC (the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada) and the vendor Digitary. The new service will allow students and alumni to have a secure digital credential sharing wallet via an online platform. The service will consist of two components:

How to request access the service

McGill students and alumni will receive an email asking them to register on the platform. This email will be sent once a document they've requested is made available to them on the MyCreds™ platform and is ready to be viewed and shared. To access MyCreds™ Students Portal, students and alumni can use their McGill Credentials by clicking on "Sign in with your Education Provider" and then choosing "McGill" from the drop-down list.

Enrolment Services SIS Security grants access to approved McGill staff on a case-by-case basis.

Cost

McGill staff: There is no cost associated with this service.

Students and Alumni will need to pay a fee to share their documents with third parties using MyCreds™.


Availability

The service is available 24 X 7, except during planned maintenance or outages. Check the home page of the IT Support site for announcements.

As a staff member, do I need to use VPN when off-campus to access this service?
Yes. For staff, it is important to authenticate using VPN.


As a student do I need to use VPN when off-campus to access this service?
No. For students it is not necessary to authenticate with VPN, the portal will be accessible.


Best practices & policies

By the Policy on E-mail Communication with Students, students must be able to receive notifications sent to their McGill email address from the University.
