How-To: Install ArcGIS Pro (ArcGIS Desktop Pro 3.x.x)

ArcGIS Pro is a full-featured professional desktop Geographic Information System (GIS) application available to the McGill community. See About: ArcGIS Pro (aka ArcGIS Desktop Pro).

Installing ArcGIS Pro

Note: Exact file names will vary depending on the latest version of the software.

After downloading ArcGIS Pro for Windows from the McGill Software Download site:

  1. Extract the downloaded file ArcGIS Pro 3_x.x.zip
  2. Double click to run the installer file ArcGISPro_34_xxxxxx.exe
  3. Click Next and follow the instructions.

    Note: Your destination folder path might be different.

 

  1. Ensure the Launch the setup program box is selected. Click Close.

 

  1. The ArcGIS Pro Setup window open. Click Next. Then click Next again.

 

  1. Ensure I accept the master agreement is selected. Click Next.

 

  1. Click Next.

 

  1. Uncheck Click here to participate in the Esri User, then click Install.
    Note: Install may take several minutes to complete.

 

  1. Install may take several minutes to complete. Click Finish.

10. In the Licensing windows that opens, on the License Type, select Name User License. Select ArcGIS Enterprise, and enter the URL. Click OK.

11. To proceed, you will need to connect to McGill network or McGill VPN first. Once you are connected to either McGill's network or McGill's VPN, click McGill Azure AD. Use your McGill email to login.
