NOTE: this article refers to a process to be used on sites that have already migrated to the New WMS.

If your site has not yet migrated see the Index of documentation for the McGill Web Management System.

Unpublishing a page or Article

The moderation state Unpublished page will remove a page or article from public view. New pages will not show this option until they are published once.

  1. Navigate to the content (page, article, etc.) and click Edit.
  2. Change state to unpublished page.
  3. Click Save.

Deleting a Page or Article

Deletion permanently removes the page from the site. If the page is translated, deleting will delete all translations as well as the primary language page.

Navigate to the page and click the Delete tab. Confirm Delete action by clicking Delete.

Removing or deleting a global block

To remove a global block from its published location, without deleting it, navigate to the block administration screen (click Structure, then Block layout), and select Disable from the drop-down options for the block.

To permanently delete the global block, navigate to the block content screen (click Content, then Blocks), and select Delete from the drop-down options for the block. Confirm the action by clicking Delete.
