WMS: Create blocks

Target audience: Site Managers

This article contains instructions on how to configure blocks. General steps to create a block can be found in the Create and configure a Global block, and Layout builder articles. The difference between global and layout blocks is explained in the article: Global vs Layout blocks.

Banner and Hero blocks

Create a Banner block

  1. Select Banner.
  2. Complete the block form, required fields are indicated with a red asterisk.
    1. Block description: use this field to identify your block.
    2. Image
  3. Click Save.

Create a Hero  block

  1. Select Hero.
  2. Add a Block Description.
  3. Upload the image.
  4. Save.

Configure a Hero block: The hero block is configured like any other block type but should use the Highlighted region exclusively.

Standard block

Create a Standard block

  1. Select Standard.
  2. Block Description/ Title: Use this field to identify your block.
  3. In the Body field, enter the content for the block.
  4. Click Save/ Add Block.
Call-to-Action block

Create a Call-to-Action block:

  1. Select Call-to-Action.
  2. Complete the block form. Required fields are indicated with a red asterisk.
    1. Block Description: Use this field to identify the block.
    2. Image
    3. Body
    4. Link
    5. Button style: Select the style for the button.
      1. Standard (black text and outline, white fill)
      2. Secondary (white text, black fill)
      3. Primary (White text, red fill)
    6. Style (available in Layout Builder): select Dark to give the block a black background.
      Note: to give a global block a dark background, you must configure it.
  3. Click Save/Add block.
Call-to-Action block - without image

Create a Call-to-Action block - without image

  1. Select Call-to-Action - without image.
  2. Complete the block form. Required fields are indicated with a red asterisk.
    1. Block Description/Title: use this field to identify your block.
    2. Body
    3. Link
    4. Button style: Select the style for your button.
      1. Standard (black text and outline, white fill)
      2. Secondary (white text, black fill)
      3. Primary (White text, red fill)
    5. Style (available in Layout Builder): select Dark to give the block a black background.
      Note: to give a global block a dark background, you must configure it.
  3. Click Save/Add block.
List block

Create a List block

  1. Select List.
  2. Complete the block form. Required fields are indicated with a red asterisk.
    • Block Description: Use this field to name your block.
    • Image
    • Body
    • Links
  3. Click Save/Add block.
Statement block

Create a Statement block

  1. Select Statement.
  2. Complete the block form. Required fields are indicated with a red asterisk.
    • Block Description/Title: this is not visible to site visitors, use this field to name your block.
    • Image
    • Body content
    • Links
  3. Click Save.

 

Edit blocks
Global Block:
  1. Navigate to the block list (Content > Blocks) and locate the block you wish to modify.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Make the changes and Save.
Layout Block: 
  1. Navigate to the layout tab of the page.
  2. Locate the block.
  3. Click the pencil icon that appears upon hover in the top right corner area of the block.
  4. Click Configure.
  5. Make changes and click Update.
  6. Click Save Layout.
