WMS: Create blocks


OVERVIEW

Target audience: Site Managers

This article contains instructions on how to configure blocks. General steps to create a block can be found in the Create and configure a Global block, and Layout builder articles. The difference between global and layout blocks is explained in the article: Global vs Layout blocks.

Standard block

Create a Standard block

  1. Click Add Block.
  2. Click Create custom block.
  3. Select Standard block.
  4. In the Title field enter a title for your block. (Check the box if you want to display the title.)
  5. In the body field enter the content for the block.
  6. Click Add Block.
Call-to-Action block

Create a Call-to-Action block:

  1. Select Call-to-Action when creating a block.
  2. Complete the block form, required fields are indicated with a red asterisk.
    • Block Description: this is not visible to site visitors, use this field to identify your block.
    • Image
    • Body content
    • Link Button style: Select the style for your button.
      • Standard (black text and outline, white fill)
      • Secondary (white text, black fill)
      • Primary (White text, red fill)
  3. Click Save.

Edit a Call-to-Action block

Global Block:
  1. Navigate to the block list (Content > Blocks) and locate the block.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Make changes and Save.
Layout block:
  1. Navigate to the layout tab of the page.
  2. Locate the block.
  3. Click the pencil icon that appears upon hover in the top right corner area of the block.
  4. Click Configure.
  5. Make changes and Save.
Hero block

Create a Hero  block

  1. Select Hero when creating a block.
  2. Add a Block Description.
  3. Upload the image.
  4. Save.

Configure a Hero block: The hero block is configured like any other block type, but should use the Highlighted region exclusively.

List block

Create a List block

  1. Select List when creating a block.
  2. Complete the block form, required fields are indicated with a red asterisk.
    • Block Description: this is not visible to site visitors, use this field to name your block.
    • Image
    • Body content
    • Read More Links
  3. Click Save.

Edit a List block

Global Block:
  1. Navigate to the block list (Content > Blocks) and locate the block you wish to modify.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Make the changes and Save.
Layout Block: 
  1. Navigate to the layout tab of the page.
  2. Locate the block.
  3. Click the pencil icon that appears upon hover in the top right corner area of the block.
  4. Click Configure.
  5. Make changes and click Save Layout.
  6. Click Save to save the page.
Statement block

Create a Statement block

  1. Select Statement when creating a block.
  2. Complete the block form, required fields are indicated with a red asterisk.
    • Block Description: this is not visible to site visitors, use this field to name your block.
    • Image
    • Body content
    • Read More Links
  3. Click Save.

Edit a Statement block

Global Block:
  1. Navigate to the block list (Content > Blocks) and locate the block you wish to modify.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Make the changes and Save.
Layout Block: 
  1. Navigate to the layout tab of the page.
  2. Locate the block.
  3. Click the pencil icon that appears upon hover in the top right corner area of the block.
  4. Click Configure.
  5. Make changes and click Save Layout.
  6. Click Save to save the page.
