Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is one of McGill's endpoint protection services, providing enterprise-grade protection against malware, ransomware, and advanced threats on McGill staff’s work computer.
By protecting against identity theft, security breaches, and data loss, endpoint protection software such as MS Defender helps minimize business risks, including network downtime and reduced productivity.
Keeping your endpoint protection up to date significantly lowers the risk of malware infections while ensuring that any existing threats are detected and eliminated efficiently.
In 2025, McGill will replace Cisco Secure Endpoint on Client/Server OS (Windows/Mac/Linux) with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
LAN Administrators: Please ensure that all systems within your networks are protected from viruses by installing Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on McGill-funded computers.
