This article provides information on how to embed content from select external sites in the Web Management System (WMS). At the moment, only Microsoft Forms content is possible to embed in the New WMS.
NOTE: this article refers to a process to be used on sites that have already migrated to the New WMS.
Embed Microsoft Forms form
Microsoft Forms is the recommended solution for online data collection on McGill WMS sites.
Public forms can be fully embedded on your site, and private forms (for users with a McGill login) will always only show the link to the form on the Microsoft website allowing the user to log in to complete it.
Embed a link to the form (Private or public forms):
- Click the Embed Content button in the WMS Editor.
- Complete the required fields:
- Select Microsoft Form from the drop-down menu under Embedded content.
- Paste the long or short URL copied from the Microsoft Form in the URL field.
- Adjust the width and height: click to highlight the embedded form in the editing window and click the Embed Content button to adjust the settings.
- Enter the width in pixels e.g., 1100px (do not use percentage).
- Enter the height in pixels e.g., 320px. (do not use percentage).
- Click Submit.
Embed the form in full (Public forms only):
- Click the Embed Content button in the WMS Editor.
- Complete the required fields:
- Select Microsoft Form from the drop-down menu under Embedded content.
- Paste the long or short URL copied from the Microsoft Form in the URL field.
- Adjust the width and height: click to highlight the embedded form in the editing window and click the Embed Content button to adjust the settings.
- Enter the width in pixels e.g., 1100px (do not use percentage).
- Enter the height in pixels e.g., 320px and up. [A minimum height of 320px will usually display the fillable form, adjust if needed.] (do not use percentage).
- Click Submit.
