If your site has not yet migrated see the Index of documentation for the McGill Web Management System.

Embed Microsoft Forms form

Microsoft Forms is the recommended solution for online data collection on McGill WMS sites.

Public forms can be fully embedded on your site, allowing users to fill them out without leaving the page. Private forms (for users with a McGill login) will display a link to the form on the Microsoft website, allowing users to log in and complete it.

To embed a form:

  1. Click the Embedded content button in the WYSIWYG editor.
  2. Complete the required fields:
    • Select Microsoft Forms from the drop-down menu under Embedded content.
    • Paste the long or short URL copied from the Microsoft Form into the URL field.
    • Enter the Width in pixels (do not use percentages). We recommend 1100px, which will fill the available space in any layout.
    • Enter the Height in pixels (do not use percentages). The minimum height is 300px and the maximum height is 550px.
    • Click Submit.

It may be necessary to adjust the width and height of public forms to display the form itself rather than a link to the Microsoft site. Private forms will always display a link only.

To adjust the width and height, click to highlight the embedded form in the editing window and then click the Embedded content button to modify the settings.
