If your site has not yet migrated, see the Index of documentation for the McGill Web Management System.

OVERVIEW

Target audience: Site Administrators, Site Managers, Site Editors

Many file types can be inserted into pages in the Web Management System (WMS), including PDFs and Word documents. You cannot upload video files.

Only upload documents when users need to download or print the information. All uploaded documents must meet Accessibility requirements and use clear, descriptive file names.

A document can be added to a page either on its own line or as a link within a paragraph.

  1. Edit the page where you want to add the file.
  2. In the WYSIWYG editor, place your cursor on a blank line.
  3. Click the Insert Media icon on the toolbar.
  4. Select Document.
  5. Upload the document if it has not already been uploaded:
    • Next to Add file, click Browse.
    • Select the file from your computer.
    • Enter a Description (this will be the link text).
    • Click Save.
  6. Select the document and click Insert Selected.

A link to the document will be displayed in the WYSIWYG editor.
